Meeting

The Friends will be meeting on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 5:30 pm in the library’s meeting room (basement level).

Agenda for the meeting:

1. Welcome new members
2. Discuss role of Friends at the library
3. Review finances
4. Explain intake and sorting of donations
5. Start stocking the Book Nook (shelves of books for sale located across from the circulation desk)

Friends Are On Hiatus

The Friends of MAPL are currently on hiatus until further notice.

Therefore we are unable to accept book and media donations, so please do not take donations to the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library at this time.

Consider donating your items to a Goodwill store or a Better World Books Drop Box (one is located at the Union Beach Memorial Library) for the time being.

We will post when we are able to reconvene our usual duties and when we will start to accept donations again.

MAPL Friends December Meeting Cancelled

The MAPL Friends will not be meeting in December.

Our next meeting will be Monday, January 8, 2018 at 7pm in the library meeting room.

July and August Meetings Cancelled

The Friends will not be meeting in July and August.

The Friends will meet again September 11 to discuss plans for a fall book sale.

Now Accepting Book and Media Donations

Book and Media Donation Guidelines

Donations should be brought into the library and left by the computer support desk during regular operating hours.

Books must be clean, with bindings and covers intact.

We also accept CDs, DVDs, and audio books.

We will NOT accept:

• Books that are musty, dirty, moldy, smelly, brittle, or have torn/missing pages.
• Reference sets (encyclopedias, etc.)
• Magazines
• Textbooks
• Reader’s Digest Condensed Books
• Technical, financial, business, technology, or travel material older than 2012
• VHS tapes
• Cassette tapes
